What do other health personnel do, and when are they required?

A role supporting the running of health surveillance alongside the physician; in some cases the assignment is compulsory.

The requirement

Article 6(1)(a) of Law No. 6331 lists assigning other health personnel in very hazardous workplaces with ten or more employees among the employer's duties.

The exemption

The third paragraph of the same article is explicit: where a full-time workplace physician is assigned, assigning other health personnel is not compulsory. The exemption applies only where the physician is full time.

What they do

They support the running of health surveillance: setting up the examination schedule, keeping records, contributing to first-aid arrangements and handling health data properly. They do not stand in for the physician and cannot take over the physician's assessment.

In Optifora

The personnel side keeps the assignment together with the certificate; it warns when the requirement arises and shows the exemption where a full-time physician is assigned.
