People and competence

How is psychosocial risk assessed?

With the same cycle as physical risk: identify the hazard, assess it, control it, review. The difference is that the hazard sits in the work itself — demands, control, support, relationships, role clarity and how change is managed. Validated worker surveys are used to measure it.

Six domains

The widely used framework measures six domains: demands (workload, pace, work pattern), control (how much say a person has over their work), support (from managers and colleagues), relationships (conflict and unacceptable behaviour), role (clarity about what is expected) and change (how change is managed). These are conditions of work design, not personality traits — which is precisely why they can be fixed.

Measurement and what follows

Validated questionnaires are used; a survey with invented questions produces results that cannot be benchmarked or defended. The survey alone is not enough: a low-scoring domain is interpreted by talking to small groups from that unit, otherwise the number is read wrongly. And if the result is not tied to an action plan and a re-measurement, the survey reduces trust rather than building it.

Optifora's survey module ships with ready, validated scales; results are mapped by unit and task, and the actions land on the task list.

Manage this in Optifora

Optifora is not a single program but a compliance platform assembled from modules. The catalogue states which module is ready today and which is on the roadmap.
