How is staffing planned?

Planning means comparing the total time the contracts require with the capacity of the current staff.

Total load

Each contract requires a certain assignment time based on the workplace's hazard class and headcount. Staffing planning starts by deriving the total time all contracts require. It is the sum of hours, not the number of contracts, that decides.

Capacity

The capacity of the current staff is limited by their certificate classes and working arrangements. The rule that a person assigned full time cannot take a role in another unit or workplace directly affects capacity.

Matching certificate class

Even where total time suffices, a contract cannot be met without a person holding the certificate class it requires. Planning is therefore done by class as well as by hours.

Deciding on a new contract

Before taking a new contract, whether capacity covers it is calculated. A contract that cannot be met directly affects both service quality and warning-point risk.

In Optifora

The organisation side shows the time contracts require and the staff's capacity side by side, and says in advance whether a new contract would widen the gap.

  1. Derive the contract loadCalculate and total the time each contract requires.
  2. Measure capacityDerive the staff's usable time by certificate class.
  3. See the gapList the gap by time and by class.
  4. Check class matchConfirm a suitable certificate class exists for each contract.
  5. Test a new contractRecalculate capacity before taking a new contract.
  6. Update the planRefresh the plan when headcount or class changes.

Manage this in Optifora

Optifora is not a single program but a compliance platform assembled from modules. The catalogue states which module is ready today and which is on the roadmap.
