How does the warning-point regime work?

Points apply to breaches that do not require direct revocation; when points accumulate, the authorisation is suspended.

Where points come from

Article 21 of the Occupational Health and Safety Services Regulation states that, for breaches other than those requiring direct revocation of the certificate, the warning points set out in Annex 7 apply.

Measured examples

Failing to keep training records, or to hold a copy at the unit, is a minor breach at twenty points per inspection. Failing to record the annual work plan or the annual evaluation report is likewise twenty points. Failing to provide information and documents requested in inspections is a serious breach met with one hundred points.

The suspension threshold

Article 22 of the same regulation states that when warning points total three hundred, the certificate is suspended for six months, and the authorisation cannot be used while suspended.

The individual side runs separately

Thresholds differ for specialists and physicians: their own regulations define one hundred points for individuals and two hundred for institutions. Institutional and individual points run separately.
