What they do
They run pre-employment and periodic examinations, take part in surveillance of the working environment, assess health-related risks in the workplace, contribute to first-aid arrangements and advise the employer. Their advice is given in writing.
What they do not do
The physician does not take the workplace's business decisions; they cannot change production arrangements, shifts or assignments on their own. They advise, and the decision is the employer's — and the employer is bound to carry out written advice that complies with the legislation.
The treatment boundary
Workplace medicine is not a treatment service. Beyond emergency response, taking on continuing treatment steps outside the role and weakens the independence of surveillance.
The data boundary
Health data stays with the physician. What reaches the employer is the fitness conclusion, not diagnostic detail.
In Optifora
The module builds this separation into permissions: the fitness conclusion is visible to management, clinical detail only to the physician. Written advice is recorded and its fulfilment is tracked.
