Why and how is a service contract approved?

An assignment is completed by mutual approval in the system; a contract left unapproved does not count as made.

What approval completes

The relationship set up with a specialist, physician or service provider is completed when the contract in the system is approved by the parties. An agreement on paper does not on its own start the assignment.

In what capacity

The capacity of the person giving approval is not open; Article 14 of the Occupational Health and Safety Services Regulation points to the employer or a representative meeting defined conditions, and states that Social Security Institution records are taken as the basis.

The period

The same article requires the undertaking to be approved by those concerned within five working days at the latest. If the period is missed, the process runs again from the start.

Where it usually sticks

The person with approval authority not being defined in the system, or their record not supporting the capacity. This is resolved at the record stage, not at the contract stage.
