Guide

How is the findings and recommendations book used?

The book where the specialist's and physician's written findings reach the employer and the response is recorded; a signature is a record, not an acknowledgement.

What it is for

The book is where health and safety professionals pass findings and recommendations in writing. Being written protects both sides: that a hazard was reported, and what was done about it, becomes visible in a way that is closed to later argument.

How it is written

The finding is written without interpretation and from its location: where, what, when it was seen. The recommendation must be actionable; "take the necessary measures" is not a recommendation. Urgency is stated.

Approval and response

The employer or their representative sees the finding and records it. Seeing is not doing; what will be done and by when is written too. A finding without a response stands as an open record.

Danger to life

Where there is danger to life, the book is not the only route; a separate and prioritised route runs without waiting for the process.

In Optifora

Finding, recommendation and response are held in one record; each finding becomes a task with an owner and a date, and findings left unanswered are surfaced.
