Workplace measurement module

Workplace measurement: not the report itself, but what happens after it

Noise, dust, lighting or thermal comfort measurements are carried out in most workplaces; the result file then stays in a folder and has to be hunted down again the following period. This page describes the planned scope for workplace measurement records.

This page is written for employers who commission measurements, OHS specialists and the teams that carry the result into the risk assessment.

What the scope covers

  • Measurement point recordThe aim is to keep on record which point was measured under which heading.
  • The report file in the same placeStoring the measurement report against the relevant point and period is part of the planned scope.
  • Renewal periodShowing on the calendar when the measurement is due to be repeated is part of the design.
  • Link to the risk recordThe aim is to attach the result to the relevant risk row.
  • Comparison between periodsComparing a point with its earlier measurement is part of the planned scope.
