How are support staff and emergency teams determined?

Team size follows headcount and hazard class; people are assigned, trained and tested in drills.

How many

The size of the prevention and firefighting, evacuation and first-aid teams follows the workplace's hazard class and headcount. The emergency team calculator on this site derives the number from the workplace's own data.

Who is chosen

Team members are chosen from people actually present on that shift. A manager who is rarely on site being named on the team makes the team non-existent on nights. In a workplace working shifts, each shift has its own team.

Training and drills

Assignment alone is not enough. A team member must know their duty and have practised it in a drill. A firefighting team member who has never used an extinguisher exists only on paper.

Keeping it current

Leavers, changes of role and changes to the shift pattern break the team. The list is not written once and left; it is updated with staff movement.

In Optifora

The emergency module ties the team list to personnel records; someone who leaves or changes role shows as a gap, and a member without training is flagged.

Manage this in Optifora

Optifora is not a single program but a compliance platform assembled from modules. The catalogue states which module is ready today and which is on the roadmap.
