SGK's 2025 yearly statistics record 1,931 fatal occupational accidents under scheme 4/a and 13 under 4/b, a total of 1,944. With 766,625 accidents in the same year, 2.5 of every 1,000 occupational accidents ended in death.

The three construction divisions together give 586 deaths — 30.1% of all occupational accident deaths in the country. Land transport is disproportionately heavy for its accident count: 289 deaths in 13,840 accidents, or 21 deaths per 1,000 accidents.

Workplaces with fewer than 50 employees carry 23.5% of 4/a accidents but 55.6% of the deaths. Workplaces with 1,000 or more employees show the opposite: many accidents, few deaths.
Fatality ratio changes by sector
Deaths per 1,000 accidents describe a sector's severity better than the accident count does. That figure is 7.1 in construction, 3.6 in mining, 1.8 in food and agriculture and 0.5 in healthcare, against a national average of 2.5. At division level the contrast is sharper still: 10.7 in forestry, 11.4 in quarrying and 20.9 in land transport.
By month and against international rates
August is the deadliest month for 4/a with 188 deaths, followed by July with 187; February is the lightest with 123. Internationally, Türkiye's fatal injury rate is 11.47 per 100,000 workers (ILOSTAT, 2024) against the EU-27's 1.64 (Eurostat, 2023), while the United States recorded 5,070 fatal work injuries in 2024 (BLS).
